Superspeed is the new performance carbon hardtail from Silverback, offering a perfectly engineered blend of stiffness, lightweight, and comfort.
Two years of development has resulted in our most advanced hardtail ever, with finely tuned flex characteristics made possible by the Monoburst seattube connection. Key junctions have been oversized to achieve maximum stiffness without any weight gain. The combination of the two results in an extremely efficient bike with just enough built in flex to take the sting out of the trail.
Seatstays connect directly to the top tube, isolating the seattube from some of the trail bumps. Pedaling efficiency is not affected by the frame’s flex.
MONOBURST allows for long carbon sheets to be used in the layup process so less material is required at junctions.
Cable routing is fully internal – internal tubes make threading hosing a breeze. All that is needed is to insert the housing at the headtube and it will be guided to the relevant cable exit.
Frame strengthening and weight saving technologies have brought Superspeed frame weight down to an incredible 1000g (SBC Layup, Medium) and 1150g (Carbon Layup, Medium), making this our lightest mountain bike frame ever. Boost 148 hub spacing allows for a stiffer wheel build, and for the chainstay length to be reduced to 422mm. The short chainstays give the bike a lively and agile nature, unbeatable through technical terrain.
Comfort is usually an afterthought on a performance hardtail – not so on the Superspeed. We believe it is impossible to extract peak performance from a rider if they are uncomfortable. This is why ride comfort was a key consideration in the design of Superspeed, a hardtail that takes the sting out of the trail without giving up anything in terms of pedaling efficiency. The designed frame flex means you can ride at your max for longer, giving a less mentally and physically fatiguing experience.
The flattened off seattube allows for fore/aft seatpost flex, while the oversized downtube and chainstay junctions mean the frame is stiff where it needs to be.
Seatstays connecting directly to the top tube allows for independent seattube movement as well the use of longer carbon sheets to reduce weight at the junctions.
Wider hub spacing creates a stronger wheel build by widening the bracing angle of the spokes. Chainstay length is also reduced with the implementation of Boost 148 for a nimble ride feel.
