The Synergy uses our innovative 1-in-3 Concept to create a highly adaptable platform that enables the carbon front triangle full suspension trail bike to cover three wheel options; Slim, Plus and Fat by using three different rear triangles. Giving you three bikes in one.
The Synergy range with its 1/3 Concept creates a highly adaptable platform to enable the carbon front triangle full suspension trail bike to cover the two wheel options of Slimfat (27.5” with 3” tyres), and Fat (26” with 4” tyres) by using different rear triangles. This trail frame has great strength, stiffness, durability and low weight as its core. The bikes use 120mm of front suspension, while the IDS Revo rear suspension has 110mm of plush, responsive and predictable travel to attack the trails with speed and precision.
The IDS Revo suspension platform is designed to inspire rider confidence in all trail conditions, allowing one to focus on the trail with a full sense of security. It couples an extremely stiff chassis with supple and smooth suspension travel. The IDS Platform excels in situations with rough terrain and pedals efficiently, keeping the bike stable and grounded with great traction in all situations - up or down. Many current suspension systems use pivots on the seatstays and chainstays, these systems are prone to flex as the pivots can move independently to each other, this is why we use a floating pivot point design. Floating Pivot point designs use a solid rear triangle that rotates on two sets of linkages. IDS is Silverback’s unique trail suspension technology. What makes this system different is that it uses a lower linkage that is concentric to the bottom bracket. This linkage uses large cartridge bearings to create a stiff and strong attachment point for the rear triangle. The system also uses a relatively high anti-squat value that is optimized to complement dual and single chainring setups ensuring that power transfer remains efficient and direct. The upper linkage design creates a progressive leverage ratio that results in great small bump sensitivity as well as large impact absorption.
Designs for carbon bicycle frames have evolved over the years, and we at Silverback are embracing all the newest methods to produce lightweight, stiff, and strong performance bicycles. Our premium carbon frames use multiple layers of carefully shaped and calculated carbon sheets preimpregnated with resin. The high modulus sheets use nano-resins that have incredible strength at low volumes, keeping the frame weight as low as possible and at optimal stiffness.

The first option is the Slim rear triangle, this triangle accommodates a 29” rim with compatibility up to 2,25” tyres utilizing 148mm rear spacing. The second option is the Slimfat rear triangle, this accommodates a 27,5” rim with compatibility up to 3,2” tyres also using 148mm rear spacing. The last option is the Fat rear triangle which accommodates 26” rims and tyres up to 4,8” using 190mm rear end spacing.

Plus tyres have roughly 20% more tire in contact with the ground than regular width tires, and yet there is a minimal increase in rolling resistance (less than 2%). The result of this is plus bikes have much noticeably more traction and negligible drawbacks. Whether you’re cornering, accelerating, or braking, plus bikes will inspire confidence and shift the limits more than you could imagine!
275+ Tyres have a very similar outer diameter to 29ers and as such, climb rocks and other obstacles with relative ease. Add to this the deeper profile of plus tyres and you have a bicycle with greater cushioning and pinch flat resistance.
The deeper tyre profile feels like an extra 15-20mm of highly responsive suspension. Removing the trail chatter results in a ride that more comfortable and less physically fatiguing.
The SBC Rear Thru Axle provides a stiff
and secure fastening of the rear wheel.
The custom design integrates a
threaded hanger that can be easily
replaced should there be damage.
Cables are routed below the downtube for a neat appearance and easy maintenance. Cables protect the downtube from debris kicked up by the front wheel, and cable rub is prevented with thoughtfully places cable bosses.
The tri-torsion bridge is used to maximise rear triangle stiffness for a responsive and precise ride feel. A stiff rear triangle also helps to prolong bearing life and ensure that the bike rides like it was designed to.
1-in-3 Concept means that the Synergy is prepared for anything. The Synergy frame takes 26x4.0", 27.5x3.0", and 29x2.25" with 3 easily swapped rear triangles.
