SESTAThe Sesta provides a fast cross country and marathon bike that eats up distance efficiently. The stiffness to weight ratio of the frame is excellent, providing a good platform for the BURST technology to do its job in providing seamless grip, control and comfort. The main pivot location is designed ideally for modern drivetrain configurations in double or single ring, and the overall leverage ratio gives one a responsive feeling, coupled with small bump sensitivity and big hit control.
Using a large main pivot to connect the solid rear triangle with the compact rocker linkages to the seat tube, creates a stiff and efficient platform for the suspension. The rocker pivot points are close together, enforcing lateral stiffness through the design.
The use of high performance, durable and tough bushings on the upper shock pivot, joins the two rocker linkages in a stiff and lightweight union. These same bushings are used to connect the seat stays to the upper linkage. Bushings are perfect for limited movement pivots in that they remain smooth over the countless small, pressured movements that pivots undergo. The Large main pivot 6902 MAX bearings and medium 6900 seat tube bearings are used to maintain smooth and accurate tracking of the terrain.
Calculated suspension design allows us to use short 442mm chainstays that help keep the rear of the bike agile through corners, and give the bike excellent manoeuvrability. The short stays also help give a snappy acceleration, enhancing the bikes racing nature and technical abilities.
The strut not only adds strength and stiffness to the rear triangle while braking, but also, with its curved shape, directs air onto the rotor for additional cooling while descending helping to have more consistent brake performance and helping prolong pad life.
These rocker arms wrap around the seat tube, connecting the rear triangle to the rear shock and seat tube. Their short length optimises stiffness, and together they allow the rear triangle to move freely while controlling the leverage ratio perfectly.
Rear thru axle provides a stiff and secure fastening of the rear wheel. The custom design integrates a threaded hanger that can be easily replaced should there be damage. The frame supports the 142 x 12mm standard and enhances rear wheel tracking in rough trail conditions for added rider control.
The rear triangle has no pivots that break the triangular shape, making the construction as light and stiff as possible, perfect for a lightweight racing machine. A large and round chainstay bridge connects the two asymmetrical chainstays. The left side chainstay has a direct line to the main pivot to optimise the weight to stiffness ratio.
This option allows one to use a direct mount front derailleur, or to remove it for weight reduction when using a single chainring up front and making the frame look more aesthetically pleasing at the same time.
By use of internal mandrels during construction, the maximum carbon fibre strand length can be used along tubes and around junctions. This ensures minimum material waste and enforces our optimal weight to stiffness ratio properties. Various directional layers of carbon fibre used in this manner produce strong, stiff, light and reliable frames.
